- i'm back in kentucky and this time it's delightfully sunny
- the dogwoods are blooming
- i have now experienced fall, winter, and spring in the appalachia region.
- i am very thankful for this, seeing as i've longed to experience a variety of seasons beyond just summer and not-summer
- i am very thankful for many things these days
- at the top of my list is SNP
- (i've decided i'll refer to him here by his initials)
- even though his full-time job is in IT, can you believe he doesn't care for the internet all that much?
- he's not even on facebook
- weird
- but he is good with internet sleuthing
- as i learned by receiving a text one morning that said something along the lines of "did you really dress up as a naughty cop for halloween?"
- awk-ward
- (also, there goes my dreams of running for congress)
- (as if)
- my sweet laney is having major anxiety issues again
- it seems to have been brought on by baseball season
- i thought it was "neat" to live next to a high school during football season
- but the baseball field is RIGHT next to my place
- and every day there is a game
- and every day there's at least 30 or 40 cars that park on the narrow street next to my spare bedroom
- and every day there is absolute madness in the form of cheering, screaming, and other loud activities
- and then one day last week, my window was busted by what i assume was a foul ball
- this understandably freaked my poor dog out (i wasn't home at the time)
- the next day, while i was at work waiting for a return call from the property manager, laney managed to open the closed bedroom door and CLIME THROUGH THE BROKEN WINDOW and get out (seriously, the size of the break wasn't that big and there were huge, jagged pieces of glass hanging down - i don't know how she made it out alive)
- when i got home my neighbor informed me that she had gotten out, and followed my scent to my parking spot and parked herself there and refused to leave it for the longest time
- let that image sink in
- SO. SAD.
- when it started to rain, they finally coaxed her to my back porch (which was thankfully unlocked) and that's where she remained until i got home
- the next day i worked from home while i waited for the window to be fixed
- the day after that i got home from work to find the vertical blinds on the sliding glass door in my bedroom DESTROYED.
- i should have taken a picture. and i would have if i wasn't so completely and utterly overwhelmed by the scene
- she tore through other items in my place and made one hell of a mess
- i've not seen this much destruction since she was a puppy
- i couldn't technically be mad at her as this was obviously done out of extreme anxiety (she was panting so hard, i'm surprised she didn't give herself a heart attack)
- but i still couldn't give her any love for a good three hours after that
- ugh
- so there's that
- she's also being ridiculously needy when SNP is around
- she squeezes between us every chance she gets
- and she climbs into his lap repeatedly (all 90 lbs of her)
- and here i have to brag... he is so very good to her
- so patient and he genuinely loves her
- he even brought her a huge bag of doggie treats the other day
- having a guy love and accept your dog is akin to having a guy love and accept your children
- it's a must
- and he does it very, very well
- he does a lot of things very, very well
- and here is why i'm having a hard time blogging about our relationship
- who really wants to read this stuff?

Aww, your poor dog. That's pretty intense that she'd crawl out a broken window and sit in your parking space. Do you board her when you travel?
Sorry to hear about Laney's anxiety. :(
But happy to hear how well things are going for you! :)
@leah thankfully, she stays with my parents when i go out of town. and she does just fine there other than occasional crying/moping around the house.
@erin thanks! i'm pretty dang happy myself :)
meeee, i want to hear!
Oh man, that image is really heartbreaking. Hopefully she'll calm back down when the season's over.
And I want to hear about the happiness too! Although, yeah, that's why I'm not blogging to much these days either, I can't believe anyone would want to read that cheese.
